"Member of the Year" award.) Virginia Peninsula Chapter, PRSA Virginia Peninsula, was formed in October 2007 to serve public relations practitioners who reside and work in Tidewater Virginia. We rotate our meetings from Hampton to Newport News to Williamsburg, so that each segment of our membership benefits from a meeting "in the back yard" a few times each year. With a cross section of industry represented, PRSA Virginia Peninsula is committed to developing the organization and fomenting new and existing relationships to form a dynamic network of public relations professionals in and around the Virginia Peninsula. Local chapter meetings are held every other month on the second Wednesday, typically at noon. Often we have BYOB (bring your own bag-lunch) meetings, which last approximately an hour. To join PRSA Virginia Peninsula, you must first become a member of the PRSA national organization. You can apply online at www.prsa.org by providing a brief profile and completing the membership application. National dues are based on membership category.

National dues: $225 LOCAL CHAPTER DUES have been established by the Board of Directors as follows: MEMBERS: $60 Individuals who devote at least 50% of their time to the paid professional practice of public relations or associated functions, in concurrence with national membership requirements. RETIREE MEMBERS: $30 Individuals retired from full-time employment in the public relations industry who have been PRSA members in good standing for five or more consecutive years.
