Michael Brown is an Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton, working on strategic communications in Suffolk. He is a PhD candidate in the Public Administration and Urban Policy program at Old Dominion University. Brown previously worked as a public relations director at ALION Science and Technology in Newport News and retired after 24 years in U.S. Air Force Public Affairs. He is also an assistant football coach at Tabb High School in Yorktown.

 

Kate HovingKate Hoving has been the communications specialist for the City of Williamsburg since September 2007. Previously she was communications director for the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance and worked at the College of William and Mary in University Relations. Before moving to Williamsburg in 2003, Hoving worked 15 years in public relations in D.C., representing such organizations as: American Film Marketing Association; Cisco Systems; Kodak; Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising; Model Secondary School for the Deaf at Gallaudet University; Eagle-Picher Industries of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Very Special Arts International at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Hoving received her B.A. with Honors in History from Smith College.

 

Brittany MangoldBrittany Mangold is account manager with the Howell Creative Group, where she manages and executes marketing communication projects for clients in the non-profit, technology and service sectors. Brittany is actively involved in Williamsburg Young Emerging Professionals and volunteers with Heart for Orphans. Previously she served as office manager and marketing coordinator for AES Consulting Engineers. She holds a bachelor's degree in English and Communications from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. Presently Brittany oversees publicity and media relations for the Virginia Peninsula Chapter.

 

Jessica WhartonJessica joined the Peninsula Airport Commission (PAC), Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport in May 2006. Previously she worked for the Virginia Air & Space Center in downtown Hampton as the business development manager. Jessica directs all marketing/advertising and public/community affairs of the Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport. Making sure that the airport remains visible and competitive in the marketplace is her top priority. Finding new and creative ways to brand the airport and their airlines to the peninsula remains her goal. Jessica currently serves as treasurer for the chapter filling the role vacated by Angela Kargus who moved to Kansas. Jessica has a B.S. in Communication Studies from Christopher Newport University.

 

Melanie EricksonMelanie Erickson has been with the Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA since 1997. With a background in computer business programming, graphic design, and writing, she has worked her way across America from Florida to Alaska and across the Atlantic Ocean to Norway before settling in Yorktown. In her current role as Marketing Director, Melanie is responsible for developing the YMCA brand, implementing strategies that support the YMCA’s strategic objectives and supporting fourteen YMCA locations. Melanie is a native of California and received her BS in Business from Excelsior.

 

Kathy KammerKathy Kammer currently serves as Director of Public Relations of Williamsburg Landing, Inc. the most established and largest Continuing Care Retirement Community in Williamsburg, VA. Kathy joined the Williamsburg Landing staff in 2005, serving as Williamsburg Landing's Assistand Director of Marketing before taking her current position. She attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, studying business administration. Kathy has been involved with the American Cancer Society Board (williamsburg chapter) since 2001. She has a son, Danny, and a daughter, Laura. 

Amanda Wroten is the Executive Director for the Newport News Green Foundation. Previously she was the External Communications Coordinator for Wolesely North America, which includes Ferguson and Stock Building. Prior to that she was the Community Relations Director for the Boy Scouts of America, Colonial Virginia Council, headquartered in Newport News. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication and a Master of Arts in Humanities from Old Dominion University, where she also serves as an Adjunct Faculty Lecturer.

 
Yuri Rodgers Milligan is the Director of University Relations at Hampton University. Milligan started out as a public relations assistant in the office and has worked her way up to director.Before returning to her alma mater, Milligan was an advertising copywriter at the Daily Press in Newport News, Va. She has also been a staff writer at the Daily Progress in Charlottesville, Va. and the St. Croix Avis in the Virgin Islands. Milligan received her bachelor?s degree in print journalism from Hampton University and the Master of Public Administration Degree from Old Dominion University. Milligan is a member of the Hampton Roads Black Media Professionals, and the College Communicators Association of Virginia and the District of Columbia. She and her husband, Erwin Milligan, are the proud parents of Zaria and Taj.
 Priscilla Caldwell, Past President
Accredited in Public Relations (APR), Priscilla Bevel Caldwell has garnered 20 years of communications experience. She has provided marketing communications for business and travel industry clients, managed communications for a chamber of commerce and convention & visitors bureau, and specialized in donor relations. In 2007 she founded the Virginia Peninsula chapter of PRSA and served as President 2008-2009.
